It pulls apart right where the cane meets the cork grip. There is a metal connector there called a ferrule and the two sides are labelled male and female. Pull straight apart – DO NOT TWIST – nice and smooth. In it’s current configuration it’s the fly rod handle. If you pull it apart and turn it around it becomes the spinning rod handle. There’s a butt cap on the bottom of the rod concealing another female ferrule. Pieces #1, #2, #4 & #5 make a 3 piece fly rod with two tips referred to in short hand as a 3/2 fly rod. 2 Vintage True Temper 63TF/63R Uni-Spin Combos 1 complete 1 partial

First of all, one of the combos is missing the 2nd piece of the rod. You get 1 complete combo and the 2nd one is missing the rod tip end. Both of these combinations are the same (Rod: 63TF Reel: 63R) so you can interchange the present rod tip piece. All the pieces you get are in very good condition. As you can see from the photos there is light normal wear on the rods & reels. All guides are intact and the reels rest nice and solid. I thoroughly cleaned the rod & reel. I also cleaned & sealed the cork with U-40 Cork Seal. On the reel it reads True Temper TT Uni-Spin 63R Made & Patented In U. On the 2 piece rod it reads TT True Temper Made In U. 63TF Uni-Spin Holloglass 6 Stainless Steel Guides.
