This is a Genuine Helical Reel Company, Combination Split Cane Trout Fly Rod and Spinning Rod. It comes with a different tip for each method. The rod consists of a cork handle with screw lock ferrule. The butt carries the Helical Trade logo. It then has a butt section into which can be screwed the choice of Spinning or Fly Fishing Tips. The butt section has lined eyes as does the Spinning Tip Section. The Fly Rod Tip has offset, bridged eyes. The last of these eyes has suffered from corrosion and will need to be replaced. I cannot say whether the Cane has been degraded by this action. The spinning tip gives the rod a length of 7’6″ and the fly tip a length of 6’10”. Some of the whippings may need attention. This is a vintage great condition rare Garcia Mitchell model 510 forked foot spinning fishing reel on a Garcia Conolon 7′ light action 2 piece rod. The reel was made in France and the rod is made in the USA. The rod is light action and it is rated for 1/4″ to 1/2″ oz. Lures with 4-8lb line. This vintage reel is in great condition and works great. The rod is in good condition with some wear to the handle(see pictures). This set is a great deal at its low price.
